Newspaper Design Research

I like the way that this newspaper comes in a envelope, it is very sophisticated looking and the bright orange details stand out against the usual black type, with white stock. There is also a lot of information on the spreads, but it is delivered in a different way to the usual and I want my design to head in this direction.

I looked at the spreads of this design, again there is a lot of information on these pages and you can see the use of the grid however I feel that there are too many columns on one page, and it looks overwhelming and as well as this the coloured numbers over the top in a diagonal fashion add to the chaos of the layout.

 However I feel that the numbers in this vertical style is much more neat and appealing. 
And on the left hand side of the spread there are 3 columns and this space gives the eye more time to process and it is much more inviting to read.

I like the combination and balance of images and text in this piece, the colours suit the theme, but I do think a colour would of made it more inviting to read. The layout looks spacious and not too over crowded.

This format shows me how the broadsheet folds out and how the two halves work separately and then together, it is quite simple but its clear.

This is a good example of a broadsheet to me, and the content is about education and informing. It is also a serious cause but the presentation looks interesting and key parts seem to have been highlighted in the text.

I also like this speech bubble page its is very impactual.

This newspaper contains full colour photographs and black text whereas for instance above the only colour is yellow the images a text are greyscale. I think that both look good, I am unsure which I will use as of yet.

I like the layout of this newspaper and the way it has used a grid. There where a lot of images in this newspaper and so it was not specifically related to what I am wanting to achieve, I think mine may have more text.

I saw this newspaper afterwards, and I felt that this one was more appropriate and I really liked the two colours only scheme, and that it looks like an overlay, type- screen print. As well as this there is a lot more information and text on this piece, and this would be the case for my newspaper. And there is also lots of different info-graphics in this and this element is also interesting to look at.
