Brief 1: Stationary Set

For this brief I was inspired my interest in stationary, I wanted to created a set stationary but I wasn't sure of the theme at first, however when thinking about what I wanted to refine in this year about foiling. I then connected this to a film a I like called 'The Great Gatsby" which is also a book, it is also set in the 1920's, and I am interested in all types of history and trends I always have been, and so I thought that this theme would be perfect. And the fact that I feel from going into shops like paperchase and blott, I find their stationary ranges can be overly cute and seemed to be aimed a children, yet a lot of students and young professionals use and admire stationary- and they are the ones who buy it and so my range will fulfil this gap I feel that there is.

My thoughts on the production of this brief is that there will be a lot of foiling involved due to the look of 1920's Art Deco- (mainly being gold and luxurious) I also want to look at using different types of bindings for the notebooks and different stocks, and this gives me a lot of potential for exploration.

Timescale: I feel that this brief should take around 1 week - 2 weeks (max) and so it is a short brief. I need to consider the time for production.
